Trustee

Joe Salvatore

Joe Salvatore was born and raised in Valley City, the Frog Jumping Capital of Ohio.  After many years of intense frog jumping, he attended Miami University in Oxford, OH and earned a B.A. in creative writing.  After growing tired of watching Ohio State lose to Michigan, Joe moved to Ann Arbor and graduated from the University of Michigan with an M.A. in higher education administration.  Joe lived in Chicago for six years, teaching high school English and creative writing and spending most of his time searching for parking. After two years directing an academic program for gifted students at Northwestern University, Joe moved to South Lyon in 2003 where he now lives with his wife Jennifer, daughter Lucie, son Charlie, and rambunctious lab Bailey.  For the past 12 years, Joe has worked at the University of Michigan's Science Learning Center (SLC) where he currently serves as Interim Director and Michigan football obsessionist.
