This session, aimed at researchers whose ancestral trails extend to and from Michigan, will explore these migration patterns and provide an overview of the rich and abundant genealogical resources available in print and online. |

July 2013 is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Henry Ford. We invite you to attend a presentation on Ford’s life and work by automotive historian and member of the Henry Ford Heritage Association, Russell Dore. You will learn about Ford’s inventions, his family, some of the ways he changed the world, and both the positive and more controversial aspects of his strong personality. Stop by an hour before the program to check out the classic Fords and other cars that will be on display in our parking lot courtesy of the South Lyon Spark Plugs Car Club. 1,000 Mile Great Lakes Walk Time: Tuesday, October 29 @ 7:00 pmDuration: 1 hour Status: Login to RSVP [2] Michigan native Loreen Niewenhuis, has always had a connection to and deep love of Lake Michigan. She decided to make the 1,000 mile trek around the lake and then wrote "A 1,000 Mile Walk on the Beach: One Woman's Trek of the Perimeter of Lake Michigan." Next she decided to touch every Great Lake and her second big trek resulted in "A 1,000 Mile Great Lake Walk.". Loreen will share her fascinating story with us on October 29th at 7:00 PM. |
