Board of Trustees

The mission of the Salem-South Lyon District Library Board of Trustees is to uphold the trust, granted to us by our fellow citizens, as we provide financial direction, long-term strategic planning, advocacy, and policies for the library while continuing our professional development.

Meet the Trustees

Denise Stacer President (2028)

Denise graduated from Michigan State University with a Computer Science Engineering degree. She recently moved to Salem Township with her husband David. They have three children (a doctor, a stage manager, and an engineer), all of whom grew up with the library as an essential part of their routines. Denise still volunteers at her former library as vice president of their Friends group and local scholarship chair. She has been an avid reader her whole life and is looking forward to this new library adventure.

Linda Hamilton Vice-President (2026)

Linda Hamilton has lived in Salem Township for many years. She and her husband are involved in the family dairy farm, which has been operated since the 1820s. All three of her children—regular library users—were raised in Salem, and her daughter worked at the library while attending college. Linda served on the very first SSLDL Board of Trustees as its president and oversaw the building of the original district library building. She believes a quality library is integral to any community.
